MY CLOUDY EMOTIONS

A cross-platform tool to help kids learn about emotions, Playful Learning.

PROJECT SPECS

A student project part of my Google UX Design Professional Certificate
Role: UX UI Designer (Research, Interviewing, Ideation, Wireframing, Prototyping, Usability Study, Illustrations, UI Design)

Year: January 2022

BACKGROUND

The kids get frustrated when they can't find the words to express their feelings because they don't have the tools to identify their emotions. Many parents manifest that the last years of quarantine increase the kid's frustrations.

PROBLEM

Doesn't exist many digital options for the kids to learn about emotions by themselves. Needs to feel identified to understand the emotions.

SOLUTION

The main goal is to create a tool that allows the kids to learn playful the emotions they have.

USER RESEARCH

I researched kids and parents.
Most interviewed kids reported feeling frustrated when they cannot express clearly what they are feeling. Also, interviewed adults reported feeling frustrated when they don't know how to help their kids realize what is happening to them.

NEXT STEPS

  • Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.

  • Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.

TAKEAWAYS

Impact:

The app help users to learn about emotions in a interactive and fun way.

User Quote: “I really like the colors and the clouds drawings”

What I learned:

I learned that is important to test the prototype with users and hear their feedbacks.

I really think that the usability studies are a strong instrument to know their opinions.
